Garrard 4HF Vtg Turntable Record Player, Serviced, Working Well, with 45 RPM
Offered is a VERY clean Garrard 4HF (L) turntable. It has been serviced and is working great – all of the old “gorilla snot” sticky grease has been removed and re-lubed, and the idler wheel is soft and turns freely. The electronic speed control works perfectly, and the four speed mechanical control is smooth and clean. The cartridge is an ADC (see photo). The stereo cartridge and needle work fine, and sound good to my ear – I have not looked at the needle under a microscope, however – it may be worn. There is a small amount of normal wear and remaining dust/soiling (see photos – mostly cleaned up, but I did not want to get too aggressive). No dings, dents, breaks, etc. As noted, the mechanism has been “freed” of sticky old grease, lubed, and works well. The included original plinth has suffered some glue failures and has been re-glued. However, it does not line up perfectly any more (close, but some small edges showing) (see photos). So some assembly will be required. I have an electronic copy of the user manual (you can download it off the web).
