Early Original Linn Sondek LP12 Transcription Turntable, Record Player Deck Only
This is a rather lovely early Linn Sondek LP12.. Bought several years ago.. I had it serviced and I have only had the opportunity to use only a handful of times since… Service included new springs and belt and supplied with new oil, still have the original springs. Please study the pictures as this is the actual turntable for sale and form part of the description.. As you can see this has been exceptionally well cared for, thete are minor signs of use and age… The lid is bright and clear but does have some marks, it does stay up so hinges are ok. The armboard is Rega type arms, but can accept over brands. This is an original early model serial no 0029 which dates it 1979ish.. However there are a number of fans who believe the early original models have a sound that is lost on the latest versions.. The tonearm and cartridge have listed seperately.. I will very carefully pack, removing the platter and packing lid seperately. Welcome to our listing and thanks for visiting. After viewing this item, please see our other listings for more collectible items. We hope you find something you like. Here is an early Victor model 6 phonograph with a metal horn. We have taken a few photographs of the phonograph and hope that they will be of more help than our description. The cabinet is mahogany and has the original finish which is generally good, but has an alligatored appearance (especially on the top of the cabinet). There are some scratches, a couple of small bends, and one small dent to the horn, but is in generally good condition. Might need some polishing. The cabinet and mechanism will need some restoration. Some of the gold plating on the tonearm and other parts has worn off. Some parts of the brake (for the turntable) is missing. There is a small dent on the one side of the cabinet that must have happened from the inside out. Nothing seems to be missing though. The clip that is pushed to lift the motor board up is missing. The crank with the phonograph seems to work fine, though it is not gold plated, so it is probably not the original crank. We wound the motor a few times and it seems to run OK, though it is noisy. We hope that the photos will help those who are interested. We will do our best to answer any questions. We live about 25 miles west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It could possibly be delivered to the Wayne, New Jersey music show in October, or could be picked up by someone going to or returning from the show. Certain conditions must be met though. We hope that we have described our items to complete satisfaction. We are not on-line everyday though, so please be patient for the reply.
