Portable record player, made in Switzerland by Paillard S. Red crackle enamel finish is much less common than the standard black/brown coverings, making this a desirable collector’s piece. An original red crackle enamel finish is a rarer color variant. The enamel shows typical age-related crackling and surface wear, but retains strong visual appeal. Hinges, clasps, and case structure remain intact. Complete with original winding crank and turntable. Spring motor winds and run great. One full crank will play the whole song with no problem. Vintage, preowned Thorens Turntable TD166 MKII with original box and foam inserts! Tested and in basic working condition. Adjustments, fine tuning, proper cleaning may be needed. Please view video in this listing for a demonstration. Read ALL turntable notes below. Turntable and most components of it will need a good, thorough cleaning. Misfit Collectibles will not clean this item in an effort to best preserve it’s original condition and avoid inadvertently inflicting any damage. Basic functions of the turntable were tested. Misfit Collectibles cannot guarantee the functionality of all features. Wires have some wear. Some of the foam from the inserts stuck to parts of the wire from sitting inside the box for a prolonged period of time. Turntable and wood base itself has lots of wear, marks, and some chips. Small section of the the RCA wires are fraying, but still functional. Most, if not all, components of this turntable appear to be original. Underside of each top box flap have “garage sale” pricing written in black marker. Portions of the outer box have severe damage. See pictures, used, working condition, will require service to get back to its best however. Will be packed securely/insured for transport. Some marks and signs of wear to the wood chasis/plinth and boards (mainly to corners) and some slight pitting top aluminium parts. A bit dusty/ needs a good clean. Belt could be replaced (slightly loose). Power plug/phono leads could use replacing (but they work). Some pitting to aluminum buttons and knobs. Some scratches/marks to lid, lid and hinge assembly complete but is a bit loose. This is vintage, used equipment that may have flaws that I have not been able to detect. Thorens TD-150 MK II Turntable Record Player German. I’ve done all that I can with testing it, and if you have any recommendations on speakers I can use or what to hook it up to. Please let me know. The piece is as shown. There is no dust cover. When you plug in the electrical plug, the machine turns just fine. Adjusting from 33 to 45 works just fine. I noticed when I have the larger metal plate on it there’s a light scraping sound. So there will have to be adjustments made with the turntable top and making it even out and weighted out. Brad engraved his name as you can see in the lower part. I can’t test how it hooks up cuz I don’t have any speakers. I just brought this out of storage after all these years. The rest of the device looks pretty good with minimal wear here and there. It has not been opened up or looked at for a few decades. Again condition is as shown. If you have any recommendations of how to test it with speakers let me know. I just literally don’t have speakers.
