Yamaha YP-B4 Belt Drive Record Player. This record player uses superior parts at each point and also has an auto mechanism. The drive system is a belt drive system, with a 30 cm diameter, 1.1 kg weight aluminum die-cast turntable driven by a 4-pole synchronous motor. The turntable is dynamically balanced precisely from the casting stage, and is finished precisely along with the turntable bearings and motor pulleys, which are the key points of the drive system. The tone arm is a precision laterally balanced S-shaped pipe arm, held by a rigid and low-noise zinc die-cast holder. It is also equipped with a direct-reading graduated inside force canceller, arm lifter, and 0.5g step counter ring needle pressure adjustment to enhance ease of use. This turntable is fully functional – but has not been restored. I used this table for many months without issue. Up for sale is this Braun PS 500 turntable. Designed by Dieter Rams and released in 1970-71. This is a rare 60hz / 120v USA-ready export model, just plug it in and go. The more common 50hz / 240v models that regularly come up for sale require both a step-down converter and decent-quality sine-wave generator to function properly here in the USA. Drive belt replaced a few years ago. Headshell pictured and included is a little iffy, dented on the rear and missing an internal plastic piece, consider it a bonus; I believe the vintage Stanton cartridge (also included) is functional but could use a new stylus. Automatic-shutoff functionality doesn’t quite engage when playing records normally, though it will engage if you manually move the tonearm past the runout groove.
