This record player dates from the early 1970’s. It has been recovered from an elderly persons home where it has sat unused for the last 30 years+. The unit is complete, all i have done is clean the unit up and fit a new power cable before powering it up. Speakers are genuine and original to the player, they are currently in need of a rewire in order to work with this player though as they were rewired previously for use with another system and will not correctly fit this player. The player itself appears to be in full working order, i have powered it up and played a record on it however it would certainly benefit from a new pin to read the records. This player is now rare to find especially with the original speakers! Please ask any questions. Here we have a nice, rare Electrohome 703 Circa 75 console record player/stereo with the walnut finish in nice condition. I merely did a cursory cleaning and oiling of the surface of the unit, I hooked it up to see how it would perform…. I will answer any questions, please inquire. The Walnut veneer is in great condition but has one 1/4 or so size piece out of it (photo to come), right on the top lip as shown, there were 2 or 3 small abrasions (scratches) also on the walnut but they essentially became unnoticeable with some lemon oil. There are some tiny white paint dots on the top surface of the console. There are no scratches or damage to any black portion of the console. The base trim is in great condition, as is the base itself. The sliding doors move freely and meet up perfectly. The stereo powers up, the display lights up, I was able to tune into FM stations, the treble / volume / bass / on+off / and tuning buttons all work. The indicator on the tuner moves as it should. The two satellite speakers plug into the base, but only one works well – the other speaker has the base off of it as shown (does not look difficult to re-attach properly), it does produce sound but faintly – because of this I was unable to test the fader but I think the problem is the speaker itself. The speakers have some wear to the metal on the tops. The turntable turns, I was able to play a record but I believe the needle is bad as it would skate across the record and the sound was terrible. I do not know how to use the auto-play function so I did not monkey with that. It sounds great otherwise on the stereo, the internal speaker delivers a deep base with no flutter. The finish on the record player as well as the stereo control panel is excellent, there is very minor wear I suppose but there are no scratches, or heavy rub marks / losses to the chrome on the buttons etc. If you are looking close at the photos, most of what you see is some remainder of dust and particles on the surfaces….. It will benefit from a proper cleaning. The pedestal has a couple vertical cracks at the base, it appears that it is result of the wood drying out. The pedestal is solid to the unit and base, there is no free play or wobbling, the base also sits flat on the feet with no wobble. I can personally deliver it at cost within a 1.5 hr radius of Massena NY in the USA. In Canada, I can personally deliver at cost anywhere between Quebec City and Toronto along the 401, perhaps an hour or so North of the 401 anywhere along that route. I can work with your shipper.
