Restored by Jimmy O. Here’s an excellent vintage 1958 Admiral Stereo HiFi. Fully restored, and plays and sounds fantastic! A true testament to American HiFi design.. Check out the video below for a small sample. Of what this player sounds like! This player is just so cool. The automatic 4 speed Admiral record changer was completely taken apart. And redone to work like new again.. Has a new drive belt, turntable matt, and a stereo cartridge, so you can play both mono or stereo records on this. Also comes with its original automatic 45 adapter, which sits conveniently in its holder inside the player, and allows you to stack records and they will each play automatically. The 3 tube amplifier was also redone, with all new capacitors and resistors for long life and a wonderful sound! See the last photos for the many parts that needed to be replaced! This has a powerful 4 speaker stereo system, boasting all Alnico speakers! The front controls allow you to adjust Loudness, Balance. Bass and Treble, Mono, Stereo. Tubes include: a 12ax7, and dual NOS 50C5 Sylvania black plate outputs. The main cabinet has its original coverings which are still in very nice shape, having only some very light wear, and some bubbling to the white on the inside lid… This unique player has a convenient stereo speaker, that attaches to the inside top lid, and conveniently swings up and out, so you can place it anywhere in the room you like for full stereo sound! Comes with a generous 10 feet of speaker cord too! The speaker grill cloth is also original, and in good condition with no holes or tears, just some stains here and there. Gold tapered wood legs are the final detail. That really make this player stand out! Vintage MAGNAVOX TUBE AMPLIFIED with 4 SPEED CUSTOM AUTOMATIC RECORD PLAYER. Fully restored, tube amplified, internal speaker plays beautifully. BEAUTIFUL detailed CABINET still has a few former scuffs and scratches. Circa: 1956 MAGNAVOX MICROMATIC record changer. Note; Wooden deck inside cabinet has been modified to accept the Micromatic, thereby replacing the antiquated Collaro changer. Size: 20″W x 19″D x 13H. Legs add about 14 to height. (about 25 tall with legs attached). Speakers: 3 ALNICO Speakers total, consisting of 2 X 6″ x 9″ oval speakers and 1 x 5 Tweeter with X-over. Tube Compliment: 12AX7, 5Y3, 6AQ5, 6AQ5. Cartridge: Tetrad, STEREO with new tone arm wiring harness, Diamond. 07 mil for LP’s on one side of flip over style needle and 3 mil Sapphire on the other side for 78’s. An automatic 45 spindle adapter is included. Note: Vintage style, black color finished Danish pencil legs with mounting brackets are included. As with all vintage, used record players, there are minor scuffs, scratches, small stains and blemishes on the cabinet. In the Navy I went to school, studied and. Worked as an Aviation Electrician repairing and servicing military aircraft. Now that I’m retired, I still love to tinker with electronic and mechanical. Several radios, record players, amplifiers, and color wheels that I will be restoring over the next several years. My goal is to make these old, vintage. Devices function like new again.
