This Little Powerhouse Player was amazing for 1950. A wonderful Sounding Player that millions of People have enjoyed throughout the Decades. With Great feathers like single wheel drive, Bearing Platter (increased from 5 bearings to 9). Radio Tube, Amplifier with a 4″x6″ Alnico style Speaker. American engineering will handle its seamless mechanical operation of record stacking up to a Dozen 45 Records. All aspects of this Player has been addressed. Completely Disassembled, Cleaned Repaired, repainted, And or Rebuilt. Painstakingly reassembled calibrated, adjusted, Tested and Tested again. I can’t think of a better use of American technology to bring back to life, for people to enjoy for the next eighty years.

Restored RCA Custom EY2 45 RPM Record Player. Has built in amp and speaker. All Capacitors and all out of spec resistors have been replaced in amp. Has new Idler Wheel from VM Audio. New Cycle Cam tire, not resurfaced with liquid rubber. New motor mounts and board cushions also from VM Audio. New cartridge with diamond stylus bridged to play both mono and stereo 45’s. Motor dismanteled and bearings soaked in lacquer thinner to remove old hardened factory grease that causes motor to run slow and hot. After cleaning bearings are lubricated with Turbine Oil for long playing at correct speed. Bakelite cabinet, Tonearm, platter, spindle, spindle cap and switch polished to a high gloss. All internal parts cleaned and moving parts polished with 1500 grit paper for smooth effortless operation. You can stack as many as 15 records on spindle for long uninterrupted playing. Number of records depends on thickness and if any are warped. Top motorboard sanded, primed and painted a brushed Nickel. Thank you for looking. Custom K600 Stereo w Case & Speakers – Made in England. Also, you will want to let it warm it up a bit before it turns on. When turning on, the platter will spin but the speed seems slow. It will then turn off because the knob/switch will go back to “off” by itself (see photo #4). If you manually hold the knob/switch position to the on or auto position, it will continue to spin. Also, the arm movements don’t work well. It will go left at times but not go down properly to play – instead it will just return. Other times, it won’t move at all. Speakers were tested for sound – works. We were able to play a record but it sounds warped & slow as we had to manually adjust the arm. There is no platter mat included. There was one previously but it was dried out and cracked. Only what is pictured is included in sale. Case measures in total 26″ x 9.5″ x 14.5.

Customized Stereophonic Record Player. Here’s an awesome 1950’s CBS Columbia tube record player. With a cute separate extension speaker, a vintage 4 speed automatic changer. And a great sounding 6BQ5 single ended tube amplifier. Check out the video below for a small sample. Of what this player sounds like! The main record cabinet and extension speaker were. With awesome 50’s style coverings of red and black. The exact same style coverings used back in the day! The classic Columbia 4 speed record changer was taken apart. Due to the 60 year old grease. And completely redone to work like it should. Has a new drive wheel, and stereo cartridge installed.. You can play both mono or stereo records. There’s a small stress crack in the plastic trim of the changer near the knob. Nothing you can feel, and affects nothing at all, only mentioned for accuracy. This player also has a neat little extension speaker, which has tons of speaker wire attached, so you can place it anywhere in the room for full stereo sound! The vintage CBS Columbia tube amplifier. CBS 12AX7, twin CBS 6BQ5’s, and a Sonotone 6CA4 rectifier. Has all new capacitors and resistors since the old ones were dried out due to their age. This G arrard turntable has been in storage for more that 30 years. We have no idea what model it is. As we know almost nothing about these things, the only testing that was done was to plug it in and switc h it on. When the switch is moved to “manual”, the platter spins, but a gain, that’s all we know. Cosmetically, it seems to be in beautiful shape. There something loose inside as you can hear it when you move it around. Please remember that it’s not been used in decades and was not tested beyond turning it on. Automatic record size detection with a photo-diode’Magic Eye’ detector arm places the needle directly on the lead-in groove and lifts it at the end of the recording. Tangential tracking keeps the stylus at the optimum angle for unrivaled contact and signal reproduction. Playing the recording at exactly the same angle as it was cut. You’ll hear all the nuances of the recording, often sounding like a different (better) track. Fully automatic operation Lift, drop or’fast forward and rewind’ the tone arm through an album using the wonderfully crafted aluminium buttons. Original B&O On/Off switch still present and working at the rear of the deck. So many lose this or worse – it breaks off. +3 or -3 speed adjustment on both 33 and 45 RPM. All lights working including speed displays and front power indicator red LED. Stylus pictured is not included but there’s a full spectrum of the MMC20 range (plus a quadraphonic MMC6000 and 4000) available in my other listings. The replacement for the Beogram 4000, this deck actually existed in a number of forms, the first using the AC motor of the 4000 and later ones using a DC motor. In terms of concept, performance and technical design, this record player was very much ahead of its time. All functions were governed by computer-like logic circuits. You just pressed START, that was all. Within a few seconds you would hear the music. If there was no record on the platter the stylus could not be lowered, so the system was safe as well as simple. Records could be tracked more accurately because the tangential arm traced a straight line from the record’s edge to its centre, instead of tracing an arc as radial arms do. This method entirely eliminated inward bias (skating effect) and tracking angle error was almost non-existent. Bang & Olufsen’s Beogram 4002 turntable was awarded the’Gold Sim 74′ and’Top Form 74′ prizes in the category of electro-mechanics. Beogram 4004/4002 could be made up as part of the Beosystem 4400 or the quadraphonic Beosystem 6000 when linked together with other compatible Bang & Olufsen products. Beogram 4004/4002 was an electronically controlled stereo record player with tangential arm. The unit utilised a belt drive system to control the record deck. Thanks to the incorporation of advanced electronics, several advantages were gained from this new concept in record-players: high specification, supreme automation of all functions and the most gentle treatment of records. The tangential arm moved the pick-up in a straight line towards the centre of the record, reducing tracking error to a mere 0.04%. The record player was fitted with the MMC4000 pick-up cartridge (later MMC20EN) which had a frequency range of 20-25.000 Hz ±1.5 dB. It had an integrated, elliptical naked diamond stylus with a stylus pressure of 1g. Rotation of the turntable was governed by a synchronous motor which was power-driven via a stabilised oscillator which made it independent of mains voltage and frequency fluctuations. Wow and flutter was less than ± 0.05 % and rumble better than 65 dB. A photocell in the record-player’s second arm registered the size of the record and the speed at which it should be played. Advanced electronics governed the actions of the pick-up arm: lifting, lowering, etc. However, the record-player could be operated manually by use of the large “easy-touch” control plate. Operation of the record deck was very easy as all functions were governed by computer logic circuits. With its tangential detector arm that was parallel to the linear tracking tonearm, the unit could sense the size and speed of the record to be played and lowered the stylus into the lead-in groove. It had cueing controls to raise and lower the tonearm to where you wanted it on the record. If there was no record on the turntable and you pushed START, it would not lower the stylus on the turntable. Manual selectors to determine the speed of the record player were incorporated; however, the turntable was fully automatic so all you had to do was put on the record and press START. Beogram 4004/4002 was fitted with a hinged dust lid which could be opened to any angle up to about 60 degrees or completely removed by easy sliding action.
