Vintage 1969 Kenwood stereo record player PC-400U belt idler drive turntable. Beautiful 1969 high end turntable manufactured by Kenwood in Japan. The original owner took very good care of his audio equipment, as is evident by the condition. There are only the most minute little marks on the wood, as you can see for yourself in the photos. There are no cracks or deep scratches on the dust cover which is well hinged and working property. As with most dust covers, with a bright light at an angle you may see some swirly marks, but for its age it is hard to find in this clean condition. I do not know about servicing this turntable, and I’ve read that it may need a little oiling, but judging by the way it works, servicing may not be necessary except for the most discerning of audio enthusiasts. It is in beautiful working condition, I have posted a video below of the actual turntable playing a record. There is no indication as to what type of cartridge is on it, as there is no brand-name. Motor works but I would recommend watching the video I recorded of me turning it off/on and switching between the different speeds, it would be easier than me trying to explain it. Again, the motor does run but when in 78 speed, it does sound a little iffy. The whole thing is cosmetically in ok condition, will need a new needle and the felt is damaged. Has a rolling dolly underneath it, that can be taken out from under it. Has a Shure Pre Amp inside. Outside measurements: 24-1/2″ inches by 23-1/8″ inches and is 34 inches tall. It is about 50 Years Old, it Looks as if it were 12 Months Old! It is in Full Working Order Throughout. PLEASE NOTE: Its Original Thin Outer Platter is NOT Sitting Straight on to the Heavy Weight Lower Platter, it Looks as if it has been Dropped & Warped at Sometime in The Past. The First Picture Shows it with the Thin Outer Platter in Place. A Rubber Base Mat is Included with it for you, it can be Used Perfectly Well with that (of course the Little Platter Brake will NOT Operate Until you Source another Top Platter yourself). Its Original Instruction Leaflet & its Original Mounting Template are Both Included with it, as are All Four of its Original Rubber Fixings as well. Its Strobe is also Working as it Should Do. It comes with a SME 3009 Tonearm Board Fitted to it. (A Tonearm is NOT Supplied with it). It will be sent very well wrapped & packed, it will arrive with you as shown on this listing. Zum Verkauf steht ein sehr seltener Trio / Kenwood KP-5021 Plattenspieler. AC 100-120V / 220-240V, 50 / 60 Hz, 14 W. Der Plattenspieler hat einen Riemen-Reibrad Antrieb und stand seiner Zeit in der Konkurrenz zu dem Thorens TD-124. Dieses Gerät hatte in den 1970 Jahren 950 DM gekostet, eine Menge Geld damals. Ein unverwüstliches audiophiles Gerät, alle Umschaltungen erfolgen rein mechanisch ohne störungsverursachender Elektronik. Ich hatte eine Möglichkeit den Trio KP-5021 mit einem Thorens TD-124 zu vergleichen. Der Trio klingt frischer, dynamischer mit schönen Bässen. Der montierter Tonabnehmer AT-95ebl. Das Gerät befindet sich in einem sehr guten Zustand dank der sorgfältigen und kompletten Überholung. Beide Lager haben neuen Lagerspiegel, die Wellen sind neu poliert. Elektromotor mit neuen Gleitlagern, gereinigt, geschmiert, elektrisch getestet. Das Gerät produziert keine Rumpelgeräusche. Der Chassis ist neu lackiert (Silbermetalic) und die Zarge ist neu mit Holzfurnier (Mahagoni) furniert worden. Eine neue Abdeckhaube aus alten Lagerbeständen (NOS). Das Gerät steht für weitere 30 Jahre Benutzung bereit. Probehören des Gerätes bei der Abholung ist möglich. Für den Versand wird das Gerät sehr sicher verpackt. No nicks or scratches to paint. Very minor scratches to plinth. All mechanical functions cleaned and lubed. Works properly at all speeds. (may need short warm up period)Auto shutoff working. Motor is absolutely silent. Cartridge works in both channels and needle sounds good. This is the desirable bakelite M3D earliest stereo cart. I’m having skipping problems so it will need arm setup or arm lube. Arm movement feels smooth.
