A Rare Vintage Record Player CBS Laboratories 1006 Columbia Stereo 360 By PYE Ltd. Unit has a solid state tri-amp system and a very odd ceramic cartridge similar to early Zenith Micro Touch 2G cartridges. The lid is gasketed to seal tightly when closed to form a sealed speaker enclosure. Columbia stereo 360 phonograph – patented by CBS – manufactured by Pye of England. Very modern – almost space age looking, Garrard AT-5 changer, transistorized, a total of six small enclosed speakers in a acoustic chamber system which seems rather unusual. It’s very well made in it’s construction and has nice materials. Tested only with 33’s, runs through cycle as it should. (tested with various records). His unit has not been operated in some time and I believe that cleaning and lubricating it will make all the difference. Mechanical section seems to work fine, however, the stylus/cartridge need to be looked at, stylus will. Need to be changed but still working. The unit is showing some wear from normal use, has scratches, rubs, etc… I discovered 3 small springs when cleaning the unit and will send it with the record player. I sanitize everything I sell.
