Pioneer PL-530 Direct Drive Turntable Record Player. This turntable works and plays. Probably needs some adjustments. When playing there is some crackling/popping. Lid has lots of scratches. The veneer is peeling off in some places, and the writing is worn off around the buttons. Otherwise in pretty good condition. See pictures for more details. The turntable was top of the line back in its day! It was made in Japan, the go-to destination for high end audio equipment. This one still has the original dust cover! The turntable was very well-made and has a sturdy construction. The turntable comes with a “DiscWasher” record cleaning kit as well (shown on last picture). The kit includes the cleaning brush, box, manual, and a bottle for cleaning liquid (bottle is empty). The turntable was plugged in and powered on. The start and stop button appear to work. The light goes on and it turns smoothly. There has been no further testing. I don’t have the knowledge or time to test this properly. It has not been tested with a record. There are some minor chips in the veneer. The dust cover has light scratches (you could probably buff out). Overall, the item is in great shape for being around 50 years old! I will package the item up carefully, insure it, and pay for signature confirmation. Pioneer PL-530 Vintage Record Player. It is working and has been tested. The automatic feature does work yet needs adjustment as the needle sets down on the edge of the platter not on the vinyl. It does return when the stop button is hit. The anti skate knob is missing in the photos. I have ordered the orignal replacement. It will be included. I bought this unit, 1976 on my sons birthday. Kept it all these years untouched.. For your consideration today is a restored vintage turntable fully automatic Pioneer PL-530. Not a speck of dust. All functions serviced, lubed, etc. Original fake wood vinyl was replaced with a real wood walnut veneer. Not paper backed or peel and stick. Real wood, clamping each side. Individually, wait until it dries, trim, on to the next side. Pay attention to the corners of this player and the others. Anybody can glue veneer, but veneering is all. Custom made bigger and heavier than the original dust cover. I order covers of the PL-570 size and as thick as PL-570 cover so it fits PL-530, 550 and 570. As you see it covers more deck than original PL-530 cover. Made out of 3/16 thick acrylic. Tonearm and all metal parts, knobs, etc were cleaned and polished. All moving parts cleaned and lubricated. Plays and sounds perfectly. Ready for another 40 year old run. All auto functions, start, stop and return, lift calibrated and work as designed. Comes with AT-2111 cartridge and new stylus. Serial number badge is attached to the bottom cover. I will remove platter, hinges, counterweight and use transport screws. You can contact me for help with the set up. For your consideration today is a restored vintage turntable fully automatic Pioneer PL-530. I decided to do this 530 in a modern wood color. Cleaned all in and out. All functions serviced, lubed, etc. Lettering on aluminum face plate is perfect. Original fake wood vinyl was replaced with a real wood olive ash burl raw veneer. Silky smooth satin finish. What you see is its original color. Original cover isn’t perfect, but it’s very nice. I wet sanded, buffed and polished with McGuire three step products. Tonearm and all metal parts, knobs, screws, etc were cleaned and polished. All moving parts cleaned and lubricated. Plays and sounds perfectly. Ready for another 40 year old run.
