A very good condition Zenith Cobramatic. The radio has been serviced with capacitors and tubes and the changer has new parts, including a new Radionic cartridge and diamond needle. Platter has been reflocked and changer completely cleaned and lubricated. I tried to get a good pix of the repaired crack in the lid, but couldn’t get it to show. It is also missing a “floater” knob behind the volume control. Other than cosmetics, it plays beautifully.

This is a nicely refurbished KLH Model Twenty-Four record player / FM receiver from the late 60’s that sounds great. The idler driven Garrard turntable has been completely rebuilt and converted to manual only play with auto shutoff. The operator must manually place the tonearm on the record. At record end the tonearm will automatically return to rest position and the unit will shut off. The turntable platter mat is in excellent condition. The cartridge is a Pickering V15/HB. The preamp, amplifier, and power supply boards have all been recapped with quality audio grade capacitors. All controls have been cleaned for static free operation. FM reception is strong with no external antenna. The original veneer on the plinth / case was peeling away and rough so it was all removed and the case has been covered with a nice tweed pattern Tolex. The original dust cover was missing. The dust cover with this unit was custom made with new clear acrylic panels and the side and back have been covered with an ivory Tolex material. The hinges are torque type that will hold the lid open at approximately 60°- 90°. The old feet have been replaced with new. The aux inputs were tested with a CD player and work fine. The power and stereo lights work as does the FM signal meter. The 6.35mm headphone jack has been tested and works well. The balance control knob is not original but is a close match. Also, the tonearm clip has been fabricated as the original was broken. Please examine photos closely for additional condition details. Fine looking Allstate which of course was manufactured by ARC as a private’s label for Sears. Other than the control panel faceplate, it is identical to the RCA AP-1. The chrome, on a scale of 10 being like brand new, I would judge it at about 7. It has minor pitting on the body but not on the faceplate. I did the usual refurbish by taking every assembly apart, restoring it or replacing it and realigning to factory specs. It has a brand new motor that has been calibrated to 45rpm and a new idler drive wheel. I removed the special plug that was used for radios setup to receive the output of the player and installed a single RCA female so you can out put directly to a Aux input on the radio, or an input to an amplifier or even a bluetooth transmitter. I will also throw in a service manual so if you have a problem years down the road, you can have a local service shop take a shot at service. Will accept trade in and don’t care what condition it’s in. All I need is a good set of Pix and conversion as to what’s missing or not missing. It very inexpensive but does a great job. This 1960 vintage Dansette Conquest Auto record player in red and cream rexine with legs. This Dansette is fitted with a 2 stage amplifier and has been fitted with a new old stock cartridge and stylus to play stereo records without risk of damage. This player gives a very nice sound and packs a real punch. It’s easy to see why this would have been a popular player in its time. It’s been fully checked over electrically mechanically and the original rexine removed and recovered in new red rexine it is in superb working order. It has a stereo compatible cartridge and a new stylus so will play any records without damage. The amplifier and circuitry has been checked over and the unit fitted with a a new double insulated earthed mains cable with a 1 amp fuse. An earth cable has also been incorporated into the player. There is a treble control control along with a seperate bass control with an on/off switch which also doubles up as a volume control. The control knobs have all been cleaned and have no crackle when adjusting. The turntable is automatic. Simply sit up to 8 singles on the stem and it will go through each one perfectly. The turntable mat is the original and is in excellent condition and still soft to the touch. This will really make a great gift for someone who loves vintage record players and to own an original Dansette is an opportunity not to be missed. This record player is almost 60 years old. I have tried to get it as close to the original as possible and spent a lot of time and effort finding replacement parts and fitting them. I would prefer collection as it’s quite an heavy item and they don’t like to be knocked around. I will post if required and will attempt to package it up securely and mark as fragile. Fabulous DANSETTE JUNIOR DELUXE RECORD PLAYER in Plum and Cream. 1960s Dansette Junior Deluxe Record Player cleaned and serviced and looking superb. The case has been totally stripped and recovered in new vinyl material. New catches and hinges are fitted. The manual record deck has been cleaned and lubricated. The EL84 valve amplifier has been checked and had new components fitted including new capacitors. A new three core earthed mains lead and 3amp fused plug is also fitted. It is fitted with a modern stylus and cartridge which is safe to use on your stereo records, it is not however suitable for 78RPM records. If you would like the ability to play 78s please advise me. The original units which were the RCA AP-1 were factory installed in 50’s and 60’s high end automobiles. Now, they are hot items for restored and Custom Show Cars. Naturally, the audio system is upscaled to Stereo. Soooo, why put an expensive item under your dash if it doesn’t produce the quality of audio the system is capable of? Being a Car Nut myself, I decided to modify an old AP-1. It sounded fantastic, especially with Stereo 45rpm records. I received an offer I couldn’t refuse at my first Spring Auto Show. I have been restoring and. All parts stripped, anodized, and reinstalled to factory specs. All rubber parts and mounts and buffers have all been replaced with new. The suspension springs which keep the play deck steady over bumps have been replaced too. The cartridge has been replaced with a P-150 Stereo cartridge and the tone arm adjusted to apply only 5-8mg pressure to the needle. This allows the cartridge, thru it’s pre-amplifier, to produce true high quality audio unlike the old power point cartridge which was also used in Fischer Price toy record players. If you already have one, send it to me for a face lift. You won’t be sorry. This offering is full FM multiplex stereo so you just tune your dial to the broadcast and lock it in with your radio. Or, if you really want to blow the paint off your car, plug the amp straight into the RCA outputs.
