Up for sale we have a rare Thorens TD-124 MK1 (First Edition) turntable from a clean, smoke-free home in original condition. (please not this will require a tone arm to actual play records). The serial number is 2083 which makes it one of the first produced. It has been tested and does turn very smoothly with no resistance. The speed selector knob does turn hard so it may require some oil or cleaning to make it work smoother. I will note that the model sticker that was under the platter on the frame did fall off but has been saved and will be included. Also, I will point out that the rubber drive wheel that makes contact with the platter does have some cracking in it (see pictures). The original box and all packing is included. Here for sale is this all original The Beatles Record Player model 1000 4 speed phonograph manufactured in early 1964 in The United States. Only 5000 were manufactured & not many have survived over the last 54 years. This record player has been completely restored to fully excellent working condition by one of the best vintage audio repair shops in the Mid West here in Louisville over the last month. They recapped the amplifier, clean & lubed all moving parts and resurface the idler wheel inside. They cleaned & polished the record tone arm bearings and bushings. A new stylus was installed. They also replaced 2 capacitors so now the record player plays without any of the usual hum. This record player of course will play 7 Beatles records but also will play Birthday from The White Album with no problem all the way through. The record player takes about a minute of warming up the tubes before playing at full sound. The all original hardware record player is 17 1/2 by 10 by 6 in size and is in very good condition with slight storage wear to the cabinet. The remmanents of the original foam platter is still there. And most importantly the original serial # tag is still attached the inside lid with a # 440993. This is the fourth & best overall conditioned The Beatles Record Player I have owned over the last 45 years of collecting The Beatles & maybe the last since all the survivors are all in private collections. This is an original Beatles 1964 4-speed record player/ phonograph in very good original condition. The record player is in working condition but has the usual hum with a phono this age; also this needs to warm up before playing as is common with record players from this era. Included in this sale is a REPRODUCTION box and color COPIES of the operating instructions and biography of the Beatles. The original cardboard serial number is still attached to the inside upper lid, which is almost always missing. Photos show overall condition. The Beatles record is NOT included.
