For your consideration is a vintage turntable Pioneer PL-518. It’s a semi-auto turntable. Features include: auto lift, return and shut off. Original grey vinyl was peeled off and replaced with a real wood Ziricote veneer. Ziricote is a rare and expensive wood. It’s mostly used for making acoustic guitars. It is very hard, so cutting and trimming is very challenging. Multiple coats of oil based urethane applied with sanding and buffing between. Dust cover was sanded, buffed and polished. There are still some marks here and there, but nothing major and no cracks. Hinges hold the cover at any angle. Platter was wet sanded, buffed and polished. The player will include a brand new never used ADC K8 cartridge with its original stylus. Cueing is nice and slow. Auto lift, return and shut off calibrated. Speed pots were cleaned. Just a gorgeous looking PL-518. You won’t see another like this any time soon for sure. Ziricote is a beautiful wood, but very hard to work with and expensive. I have some left but will use on more expensive players like 530 and 550. Please, review the pictures about the condition as they are part of description. Will be safely packed, platter, hinges, counterweight, etc. Approximate box dimensions: 22x18x14. For your consideration is one of my favorite turntables Yamaha PF-800. I have owned one for years. Sub platter design with three inverted spring suspension. Sub platter is made out of zinc, and the outer part is a die cast aluminum. Black vinyl was stripped. The center piece is a rosewood real wood veneer. The rest is black walnut with Java. Cueing and auto lift and shut off work excellent. Dust cover was buffed and polished. Notice a tiny crack on the left side of the cover. I took it to the local acrylic shop and they secured it with solvent just in case. Platter was wet sanded and polished with Brasso and a McGuire medium and final cut. Speed pots were cleaned with Deoxit. Motor shaft was cleaned and lubed. Motor is dead quiet and speeds are stable. Please, review the pictures about the condition as they are part of description. I take a lot of pictures. Let me know if you want to see anything up close. Will be secured with transport screws, safely packed, platter, hinges, counterweight, etc. Approximate box dimensions 22x18x16, 35lb. Please, read my feedback.
