The Denon DP-51F is a direct-drive turntable that was released in Japan in 1981, during the “Golden Era” of Japanese audiophile equipment. Although mostly limited to Japan, Denon turntables from this era have a phenomenal reputation worldwide for their high-quality playback performance, especially the stable rotation speed, high SNR, low motor noise, and low wow and flutter. The DP-51F has some nice features, such as a non-contact dynamic servo tracer tonearm mechanism (greatly enhances SNR and overall sound), anti-skating features, and an AC servo motor (for excellent pitch accuracy). This particular unit is in very good condition, with only minor wear throughout (please see photos), including some scratches. This turntable has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation. The 33 and 45 settings both work perfectly, and the platter rotation is like clockwork, as expected from Japanese products of this era, which were built for a lifetime of operation.
