Pioneer PL-530 direct drive full automatic stereo turntable, professionally refurbished by Audio Lab of Cambridge MA. All functions tested and passed, expected to reliably perform to original spec. New dust cover did not include hinges, some patina on mat. From the owner’s manual. The DC brushless Hall motor in the PL-530 turntable combines Hall elements with a high torque motor and a semi-conductor circuit. Hall elements, production engineered by Pioneer, are used to switch the polarity in the motor. Since purely electronic communication is used for switching the motor drive circuit, harmful noise is not generated, and smooth, even rotation can be obtained with high durability. Motor: brushless DC servo Hall motor. Platter: 330mm aluminium alloy diecast. Speeds: 33 and 45rpm. Speed control range: +-2%. Wow and flutter: 0.03%. Tonearm: static-balanced type, s-shaped pipe arm. Cartridge weight range: 4 to 14.5g.
