SONY PS-X800 Linear Tracking Tangenital Biotracer STEREO TURNTABLE RECORD PLAYER
Offering a SONY PS-X800 Linear Tracking Stereo Turntable. Comes as pictured without headshell and rear tonearm cover or panel. I used my personal Headshell with a Shure MT500HE Cart. The Technics Headshell and Shure Cart are not included. I was able to find a original Sony PS-X800 Headshell on this very site, right now for approx. This unit is exceptionally clean and plays records with amazing accuracy and superb sound. All functions and features seem to be working well except it will not return when the stop button is pressed. It does return if powered off and on, but when the stop button is pressed it just lifts the arm and then stops. All other functions appear normal, upon hitting the start button the tonearm moves into the first track position and gently lowers to the record. The buttons that control manual movement of the tonearm work well and the fast setting works too. The speed is dead on and locked, and it plays with fantastic fidelity. One of the finest turntables I have had the pleasure of using to date. I would guess it could use a belt or two and I would attempt, but I understand this unit is a bit tricky so I will leave it to someone who has experience with these units. Please note; There is a panel that covers the rear of the taonearm that is not present and of course the unit comes without the headshell. The cosmetics are exceptionally clean and the dust cover is in amazing shape. It has a few small scratches, but overall is about the cleanest Dust cover I have seen on a used turntable. You don’t see many of these come up for sale and you would be hard pressed to find one that is as clean. 0% up to 150g load. 1/2 rotation (33 1/3rpm). Tonearm’s overall length.
