Vintage turntable Pioneer PL-550 Full Manual DD Quartz record player. Near mint
For your consideration is a vintage 1976-78 turntable Quartz PLL Pioneer PL-550. Audiophiles preferred full manual, VTA, steel tonearm, big and heavy platter. Same motor as PL-570. No connections or links between the motor and tonearm. You can use it as manual with pitch control or Quartz lock. Big motor works perfectly and dead silent. I use a stethoscope for testing. After you turn it off platter keeps going and going. Cueing rod was cleaned and new damping fluid applied. As you see on the pictures, tonearm was meticulously cleaned. Platter was wet sanded and polished. Aluminum plates look excellent. Original dust cover was sanded, buffed and polished and it looks excellent. Original fake wood vinyl was stripped and Eastern walnut. What you see is its original color. No stain or die was applied. No peel and stick or paper backed veneer. Only raw wood veneer. Precision cut all joints. After the veneer preparation six coats of multiple finishing was applied with sanding between coats. The player comes with an excellent sounding AT-12Sa cartridge and original stylus. Please, review the pictures about the condition as they are part of description. I take a lot of pictures.
