Vintage Silvertone Suitcase Record Player Model 7245 Sears Roebuck & Co. Tubes
Vintage Silvertone Suitcase Record Player Model 7245 Sears Roebuck & Co. A quick what I know and what I don’t. I know this works, but the belts are worn and service is needed, a played half of a Tom Lehrer record and the pitch wobbled and began to slow down, it functions at 45 rpm much better. Also the amp hums and I believe that the original tubes are still inside. I can’t guarantee that the automatic record loading system works, it didn’t work for me. What I don’t know is about parts availability and the time a overhaul would take, if you had the parts and a evening I bet you could knock this out pronto dente, if you don’t have the parts the process would be longer, still anyone who is semi-component could handle the restoration, how far you choose to go is up to yourself. Briefly the condition, overall it’s very nice but grill is pulling out in a few places, there’s no major flaws to the covering but it is aging and shows some wear, age considering it looks quite nice and I believe it was stored at some point and sat for years.
