Antique ZONOPHONE Wood Horn PHONOGRAPH TURNTABLE Record Player Victor Edison Vtg
They are prized by collectors for their distinct features and comparative rarity. This model is fitted with its original wood horn labeled with a Musicmaster S&V decal. This phonograph is huge and must have been the top of the line model at the time. As you can see the multiple moldings on the bottom put it on quite the pedestal. The wood case measures approximately 16 1/2″ x 16 1/2″ wide x 8″ tall with an 11 1/2″ platter. This zonophone appears to be all old and original. The motor looks original. All of the parts appear to be original. I cranked it up and the platter spins. When I put a record on it, it doesn’t seem to have the strength to power through and play the record. It has been sitting in my cold truck for 2 days so that may have something to do with it. The motor probably could use a good cleaning and oiling. The crank might not be original as it seems someone altered the end of it to get it to work. It will crank the machine but it doesn’t fit properly. The horn mount is missing a screw/nut. I put a temporary one in there for photos but it’s something you’re going to have to deal with. Also the screws holding the bottom panel on do not appear to be all original and some may be missing. The horn and case exhibit scuffs, scratches, etc. From age and use. All of these defects are just mentioned for the accuracy of the listing. This machine is old but for its age, it has held up wonderfully, and the aforementioned defects are minor and easily corrected.
