Rare Antique Orophone Record Player Mini Metal Phonograph Works Read C. This listing is for an RARE Antique OROPHONE Record Player Mini Metal Phonograph WORKS. This little mechanical wonder was made around the 1910s by my estimation, based on body style amp; construction. The decal is in great shape and is in a fantastic font that immediately grabs the eye. I believe it may be a military made design based on the few scraps of information I have found online, though I have also seen miniature players like this made for children, or just the novelty of it. The interesting design and unusual metal case is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends likely wont have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor It is in good condition, with no major damage. I have gently wound it, and ran it with amp; without a record. It plays a record just fine when oiled greased and wound gently. The Speed control appears to work but has not been overly tested, and needs a little fine tuning by the final owner, as it plays a little fast right now. Reproducer appears to work just fine and looks to be the original. The little built in horn amp; bracket are also in good shape, though the spring that gives them suspended buoyancy has seen better days. Metal case is in good sturdy shape, with original paint. I have not taken it apart beyond opening the lid and undoing the simple 3 bolts to drop the motor for a light clean amp; oiling / greasing. I have not removed gears or taken the motor apart at all. Comes with components shown, as shown. Winding crank appears to be original, as does the metal turntable. The case has its original paint, which has various minor areas of wear amp; scratching, see photos. Case also has some small areas of bending, natural from use, which could either be straightened or left as is as they do no structurally comprise it.
