Rare Hifi deck 1970s Vintage SONY PS-4750 Direct Drive Turntable Record Player
A very good condition, much loved example of a Sony PS 4750 Direct Drive Turn Table from 1976 (40 + years old) working well and complete With Sony headshell and considerably newer shure ED T2. There is a a crack on the rear side of the cover please see pictures. Made in Japan from 1974 to 1978. The Sony PS-4750 uses SBMC material (Sony Bulk Mould Compound) in the construction of it’s turntable platter and cabinet and has a servo-controlled direct drive DC motor, this specially developed material with its unique acoustic and vibration absorption properties provides an excellent signal to noise ratio. An innovative frequency sensing device is utilized in the form of a magnetic coating inside the air filled platter cushions. The high compliance, low friction tonearm is provided with a precisely engineered anti-skating compensator for proper tracking and superb reproduction throughout the audio spectrum. Other features of the PS-4750 include a high-visibility stroboscope, a built-in stylus overhang checker, a cueing lever to prevent record and stylus damage, and convenient pitch controls potentiometer to dial in the speed settings. The AT91 features a Conical Stylus, carbon Fibre cantilever and tracks nicely at around 2 grams. SBMCDrive system: DC servo controlled direct drive. MotorSpeeds: 33 and 45rpm.
