For your consideration: a 1964 Drexel Declaration Motorola all-tube stereo console model SKR155W. This was the last of the great all-tube models by Motorola. This particular example is decked out in the TOTL Danish Modern Drexel Declaration cabinet. The cabinet itself is in excellent condition, with only a couple minor blemishes one would be hard-pressed to notice. The wicker-style speaker fabric is also in great condition – it almost looks new. This is a petite cabinet, only measuring 51″ wide, 17″ deep and 31.5 high. But it performs like a beast. It has 11 total drivers, including a massive 15 center bass woofer. It has enough power that you can hook up additional external speakers to it if you like. It even has a functional spring reverb control – the “Vibrasonic” – which can provide a concert hall echo effect like one would find on an electric guitar amplifier. This stereo console has been recently serviced. All cross-over capacitors have been replaced, including the electrolytic capacitor for the woofer. Overall, it has a fantastic dynamic range. Capacitors have been replaced in the pre-amp, and all controls have been lubed up. The record changer has been cleaned and lubricated, so you can play albums on it as well if you wish. The external auxiliary tape input has been upgraded with modern RCA cables as well. When you hook up a cd player to this stereo, you will be amazed at both the clarity and warmth that come from this all-tube unit. This item is for local pick-up only. No warranties are implied either. This unit, while recently serviced, still contains electronics that are nearly 60 years old and we will not be held responsible for their reliability.
