Beautifully Restored RCA SHF-7 Record Player 1958
This vintage RCA record player, model SHF-7, has been expertly restored to bring you the best possible listening experience. Made in the United States in 1958, it is a true classic piece of consumer electronics. The turntable has been upgraded to a fully automatic, four speed Garrard AT6. With a tracking force of under 3 grams, it is a vast improvement over the original RCA turntable which required 8-10 grams. The mechanism has been completely disassembled, cleaned, reassembled, lubricated, adjusted and tested. A new idler wheel has been installed ensuring smooth and accurate speed and long life. A new Pfanstiehl P-188D cartridge with diamond stylus has been installed. This phonograph will safely play both stereo and mono records. It can be operated as a tabletop unit without the legs. Included is an extra headshell with cartridge and 3 mil sapphire needle for playing 78 rpm records. Simply swap out the headshells to play your 78’s. Also included is a Garrard LRS6 45 adapter, allowing you to stack and play your 45 RPM records. This adapter has been rebuilt and works well. The transformer operated push-pull tube amplifier has been fully restored with all new capacitors and the controls cleaned for static free operation. Any out of tolerance resistors have been replaced. All five tubes test strong. A new AC cord has been installed. A new crossover capacitor has been installed in the speaker system. The speakers, an 8″ woofer and two 3 1/2″ tweeters are in excellent condition with no holes, tears or repairs and sound fantastic.
