Vintage Record Player c. 1964 PYE Black Box 1004 Transistor Monarch Autochanger. The name “Black Box” was introduced in 1954, and was carried through to the 1970s, with this particular incarnation being model 1004. The 1004 model introduced transistor-based playback (rather than valve), but kept the classic looks of the original model. This particular example is fitted with a Monarch autochanger. The player works on all speeds, as does the auto changer and the light at the bottom centre front. Cosmetically, the player is in good order, other than a few dings and scuffs typical of an item that age. In the latter case, we will send you an invoice ASAP.
