CARNIVAL 1950s Record Player Pristine With Original 4 Records In Original Box
Little 1960s era record player is like new in the original packaging with the original records and in beautiful condition, with one caveat. I can not test the record player to confirm that it works because I can’t get the top to open. The plastic looks like new, but I don’t want to force it for fear that it will crack, as 50+ year old plastic has been known to do. I think it’s possible that the plastic has shrunk slightly over the decades and that is what’s making it difficult to open. The player looks factory new; not a bit of visible wear. The records also all look brand new, but one does have a scratch. Included are two spare needles; they are the old style steal needles that you might associate with old spring powered phonographs, and this is very much like those old phonographs, with no electronics or amplifier; the sound is projected by a plastic membrane. A “D” cell battery turns the electric motor. Included is a little catalog of record sets that you can order if you have a time machine. The outer sleeve of the box is complete and untorn. The styrofoam blocks have wear as of rubbed or chewed. Google image search produced no images of this toy in this particular style of packaging and it’s possible that this is the only remaining example in the world. It came from a collection that included other toys ordered through a catalog company.
