BIC 940 Turntable Record Player Tested/Serviced, Working (see video)
This listing is for a BIC 940 belt-drive turntable in good cosmetic and functional condition. It comes with only the multi-play spindle. The multi-play option functions correctly as ca be seen in the video. The multi-play function allows up to 6 stacked records to be played, or to repeat a single album up to 6 times. (single albums can be played on the multi=play spindle). The unit has been tested/serviced and is working. A vintage Pickering XV 15 cartridge/stylus is installed and working. The unit is mounted in the WB-20 walnut base with clear plastic bottom cover. The bottom cover has some cracks that have been repaired with clear plastic tape. The clear dustcover is in good condition, but it does have some significant cracks on the front side – they are solid and do not move (see pictures). A copy of the Owner’s Manual and Product Brochure are included. The following outline covers the testing/service done. The unit was fully disassembled to allow access to the drive mechanisms, speed selector, and multi-play mechanism. The old grease was removed, and replaced with lithium grease and/or turntable oil. The return “trip” rubber gasket was cleaned, sanded lightly to ensure traction. The original drive belt was inspected, cleaned and re-installed. It is in very good condition. Cleaning on all exterior surfaces was done to improve appearance. The power cord, RCA cable and ground wire were inspected and are functional. All feet were inspected and replaced as needed. A final extended use test was performed to ensure functionality. This listing describes the item to the best of our ability.
