Vintage Philco Portable Suitcase 3 Speed Tube Phonograph Record Player
This is a Philco Record player in excellent working condition. It looks great, the table turns and it does play records. It’s a 3-speed AC powered manual changer for 33, 45 and 78 records. The speed controls work for all three speeds and the control lever is in great condition. The tone arm is in perfect condition. The “flip” needle moves smoothly and effectively. The Philco Service Data sheet is included which has the schematic. It’s the original, not a reprint. The record player was serviced several years ago. I acquired it from the original owner. The cabinet is in very good condition. The faux leather is clean and shiny with minimal wear. The solid plastic handle is in great shape – no chips, cracks or gauges. The brass hinges and the latch work smoothly and have a nice patina. Please see the photos. The record player will require service. The sound quality is poor and the table turning speed is slightly slow. It will need to be serviced and may need a new needle/cartridge. The platter flock is worn as seen in the photos.
