Vtg Garrard 201 Transcription Broadcast Turntable 33/78 Record Player Pre-301
This is a beautiful and rare working Garrard 201B turntable in original case with removable lid. There is no tonearm. This is the 201B upgraded version with 33 and 78 speeds, and on/off safety lever. The lever actuates a on/off switch and contacts the tonearm at the end of the record turning the motor off. It can be used with or without the disengage switch and the switch has been rubbing the platter so I use it without. Underneath you will see orange capacitors and pots and brown knobs on top. These switches are not connected and are not being used. The turntable has been tested and runs at 33 and 78 smooth with normal light gearing sounds. The drive mechanism is lubricated and very clean and shiny with no grease build up and no corrosion. There is an attached power cord and long coaxial cable with working RCA connector. The wiring is excellent and soft and the isolation grommets look good. Very good overall condition and has been kept dry and odor free. An edge of the felt platter mat is detached.
