Lid Dustcover for turntable with hinges and hinge plates. This is a clear acrylic lid plus hinge kit for Turntables. It was original made to fit a well known Japanese Branded turntable but since many/most turntable plinths had similar dimensions, this has been found to be ideal for replacing lost/broken covers or as part of a record player build/restoration. The brand is printed onto the small centre label and if you can’t live with this, it can be removed or covered with a bit of care. The lid is a well made and properly moulded item (not of the cheaper’blown’ or fabricated from sheet variety). Note that the clear plastic has a slight blue tinge – but not as pronounced as in the picture. 443mm x 347mm x 69mm. Please measure your plinth and check that these dimensions will be satisfactory since plinth sizes do vary, even within one manufacturers range. Also check that the internal height is sufficient to clear your tonearm (this can be flexed by a few mm by raising the hight at which the hinges fit at the rear). It will also fit the Linn Basik turntable but will not fit the Linn Axis due to the position of the rear heatsink on that turntable. The general thickness of the acrylic is just over 3mm. The lower edge (ie the edge which is in contact with the record player) is 4mm all round. See pictures which show the lid and hinge parts provided. Note that the pictures make the lid look a little’blue’ but in real life it is almost perfectly clear. The lid comes complete with a pair of hinges and a pair of hinge mounting bases. The hinges are compatible with the lid – fitting into a formed’pocket’ on the rear face, and the hinge bases can be screwed to the rear of the turntable plinth. This allows the lid to be opened with the hinges supporting the lids weight; or removed completely simply by lifting off. It will be very well packaged and boxed and sent by 2nd Class Post.
