Original and Working (see below)!!!! The RCA Victor 45-EY-2 is a vintage, self-contained, 3-tube, 45 RPM automatic record player produced by RCA Victor between 1950 and 1952. Known for its iconic maroon bakelite case, it was designed specifically for playing 7-inch 45 RPM records, featuring an automatic changer (RP-190-1) that could hold up to twelve records. Key Features and Details. Purpose: A compact, tabletop phonograph with a built-in amplifier and speaker, designed for portability and high-frequency use. Mechanism: Uses the RP-190-1 changer, which is recognized for its reliability in automatically dropping and playing 7-inch records. Design: Typically found in a dark maroon bakelite cabinet. This unit belong to my grandparents and has been stored in a closet for decades. Tested by playing Elvis’, “Nothing But a Hound Dog” and it worked great! Everything worked as it should. The autochanger which worked when I originally listed it now not working correctly. The unit still plays fine but something changed and the auto changer and arm return now aren’t working correctly for some reason all of a sudden. Seems to need a linkage adjustment from what I can tell. Sure what happened there?? ADJUSTING PRICE TO REFLECT THIS ISSUE. The on/off switch triggers the platter and arm function when started. The platter rotates fine and the speed is good. Volume works as expected. I played a few 45’s and I really enjoyed hearing the history of this player when I was testing it. Should have removed it before taking photos.
